The molecular weight of water

Pen and graphite on green Awagami kitakata paper, with stainless steel specimen pins

12″ × 12″

A 3-dimensional drawing that depicts the surprising phenomenon known to scientists as "triple point." Mysterious as this may seem to the layperson, it is possible to create conditions that will force water to exist in 3 states at once (solid, liquid, gas) inside the same physical container. This commissioned piece engaged my curiosity, my nerd brain, and my graphic design toolkit.
