Love, Lost Miami

December 2022 | Green Space Miami

I showed my piece Ninety-Eight in Love Lost, Miami, an exhibit of crowdsourced ordinary objects and their accompanying stories created by and for the Miami community.

Exhibit ran Nov 30—Dec 4th at Green Space Miami (7200 Biscayne Boulevard Unit #2).

The piece Ninety-Eight recognizes the constellation of lives lost in the tragedy at Champlain Towers South in Surfside, FL. In the weeks and months following the June, 2021 disaster, creating this piece—layer by layer, line by line—supported me in processing profound grief, shock, horror. Making it, I fell into a physical meditation on the people, their relationships & interconnections (in the building, in the city, in the community as a whole); and the love and beauty they represented. My hope was to offer some comfort to someone, somewhere.

This piece is available for a public art collection or community / memorial center.
